I approach my work selecting from nature and the figure whatever deems a personal expression by assembling color and composition. The landscape provides a particular beauty by its offering of history and design. When painting nature, the sun lets certain forms feel supple, this becomes an interest of observation and colors to explore. The gradation and making of the colors leap through the picture plane yielding to any discordance that tonal combinations could present. Working with pastels and with oil paints presents a rich diversified domain of style. As I paint a corner of nature or a moment in time I aim to combine artistic impressions and bring temperament to the overall work of art.
